Nest Designs is excited to celebrate the Lunar New Year (Chinese New Year). This year, the lunar calendar celebrates the Year of the Rabbit on January 22nd.
The Year of the Rabbit
The lunar calendar follows a 12-year cycle and each year represents a different zodiac animal. The Year of the Rabbit represents a year of hope, longevity, peace, and prosperity. Little ones born in the Year of the Rabbit are thought of to be gentle, quiet, vigilant, quick-minded, kind, patient, and ingenious.
For those born in the Year of the Rabbit, here are some things that may bring you luck this year:
- The numbers 3, 4, 9
- Red, pink, purple, and blue colours
- The Spring season
- Northeast and southwest directions
People who were born in the years 1927, 1939, 1951, 1963, 1975, 1987, and 1999 were born in the Year of the Rabbit.
Fun Facts about Lunar New Year (Chinese New Year)

- There are many practices and superstitions involved in the event. One ritual is cleaning your home to get rid of bad luck.
Nest Designs’ 2023 Rabbit Zodiac Prints
To celebrate the Lunar New Year (Chinese New Year), we are releasing two prints - one new print and a classic playful print. Our first drop will be a limited selection of products but stay tuned - we'll be releasing more products very soon!
The Tortoise & The Hare is a print inspired by one of Aesop’s legendary fables that teaches little ones the moral lesson of “Slow and steady wins the race.”. This fable teaches our kids to not underestimate themselves, to work hard, and they will succeed a their own pace and in their unique way. This print is a playful and modern take on the fable with subtle earthy hues.
Lazy Rabbit is a re-release of our classic print featuring a fun-loving rabbit relaxing in a carrot patch. This print is playfully brightened hues of teal and green.
You’ll find these prints on our products including our Startle Stop Sleep Bags, Swaddle Sleep Bags, Sleep Bags, Footed Sleep Bags, Sleepers, PJs, and more. Shop our Lunar New Year collection here.
